At Parents Anonymous®, all our programs, initiatives, advocacy, and research support the empowerment journey of diverse Parents, Children, and Youth. We believe that Asking for Help is a Sign of Strength®. Everyone is capable of change. From providing emotional support to engaging in meaningful Shared Leadership® with Parents, Parents Anonymous® seeks to create and ensure positive change, foster social connection, and sustain loving and supportive families, communities and societies.

Well Being Center

Parents Anonymous® Inc. provides mental health services to diverse parents, children, youth, and families to help them grow and thrive. The services offered will include: individual and family psychotherapy, group therapy, targeted case management (TCM), and crisis intervention.

United Mental Health Promoters

United Mental Health Promoters (UMHPs) are community-based peer supporters who provide locally adapted one-on-one support, linking individuals to community resources and ongoing mental health services tailored to their specific needs, especially when availability is limited.

Strengthening Families in San Gabriel Valley

Free, weekly 2-hour Parents Anonymous® Support Groups (in English & Spanish) are for anyone in a parenting role and their children & youth. These groups provide encouragement and support to help families navigate challenges and strengthen relationships.

Prevention Education Program

In collaboration with the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health (DPH) Substance Abuse Prevention and Control (SAPC), Parents Anonymous® offers a free Prevention Education Program (PEP) for residents in two service planning areas (SPAs) of Los Angeles County: Antelope Valley (SPA 1) and San Gabriel Valley (SPA 3).

Peer Workforce Development Program

At Parents Anonymous®, we are committed to equipping the Peer Workforce with high-quality, relevant, and accessible professional development. Our Continuing Education (CE) offerings are designed to enhance the skills, knowledge, and confidence of Peer Support Specialists and those working in lived-experience roles across behavioral health, child welfare, family support, and recovery systems.

Parents Anonymous® Group

According to the Federal Title IV-E Prevention Clearinghouse, Parents Anonymous® is a nationally recognized program shown to support positive parenting, strengthen well-being, reduce substance abuse, while promoting child safety for families with children and youth of all ages. Additionally, Parents Anonymous® is rated by the California Evidence-Based Clearinghouse as effective in five programs areas: Parent Partner, Parenting, Primary Prevention, Secondary Prevention and Interventions for Abusive Behavior.

Parent Leadership

Since 1969, Parents Anonymous® has been supporting and equipping generations of Parent Leaders through proven, family-strengthening programs. In 1993, the first National Parent Leadership Team® (NPLT) was established, followed by the California Parent Leadership Team® (CPLT) in 1996. Their shared mission is to enhance programs and services that benefit Parents, Children, and Youth, fostering stronger families and communities.

National Parent Leadership Certification

National Leadership Certification for Parents & Youth

National Leadership Certification for Parents and Youth is a competency-based program that strengthens and enhances the leadership abilities of parents and youth to foster community connections and create a lasting impact. Participants engage in in-depth training, create and implement an Action Plan, actively participate in guided practice, and celebrate the achievement of 10 Leadership Competencies.

Parents Anonymous® operates eight Family Resource Centers across California, providing free, community-based support to Parents, Children, and Youth.

The California Peer Parent Network is a statewide group of parents, caregivers, and community members working together to promote strong families and supportive programs such as Parents Anonymous®. The network encourages collaboration to support well-being and strengthen families and communities.
